Panel Discussion: "Intercollegiate Athletics and Higher Education" Sponsored by the Senate and the UO Chapter of the AAUP 14 January 2004 at 1600 in 100 Willamette

Peter Gilkey (President of the UO Chapter of the AAUP) will be moderating the panel, and the panelists will be

• Brad Shelton, chair of the IAC
• Suzanne Clark, chair of the President's Task Force on Athletics
• Bill Moos, the Director of the Athletics Department
• Jim Earl, representative for the Coalition on Intercollegiate Athletics
• Ben Strawn, Student Senate President and member of the U. of O. Crew Team
• Larry Singell, Professor of Economics

Although there will also be opportunity and time for questions from the floor, we will be taking questions in advance in order to get the discussion started. Questions that were received by Monday 12 January 2004 have been posted on the web and will be transmitted to the panel.
