Willamette Resources Educational Network:

The Willamette Resources & Educational Network is 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization on a mission to practice and promote land stewardship through education, partnerships, and scientific research. Local educators identified the need for an environmental education curriculum that took an interdisciplinary approach, provided hands on experience, and focused on the practical efforts of restoration. As part of the West Eugene Wetlands Partnership, WREN is filling that niche by developing programs and facilitating experiences that educate both children and adults, as well as increase personal and community awareness of the wetlands.

While WREN has previously sought contributions from individuals and applied for grants from foundations, they are interested in exploring new territory: corporate partnerships.  Given the location of the West Eugene Wetlands in a mixed-use area, as well as WREN's strong reputation in the community, WREN is perfectly suited for local corporate sponsorship.  AFP will be supporting WREN in developing a prospective corporate donor template, and providing guidance on approaching corporations for sponsorship.  This project will involve research as well as communication with corporate philanthropic directors.  The West Eugene Wetlands need all the support they can get to bring business on board!
