Rural Development Iniatives:
Rural Development Initiatives (RDI) is an Oregon based private, non-profit dedicated to helping rural communities in the Pacific Northwest shape their own futures by providing technical assistance, leadership training, strategic planning and economic development strategies. AFP-UO worked this year on RDI’s fundraising efforts this year by providing assistance with their annual conference and implementing a planned giving program. For the conference, AFP-UO conducted an auction feasibility study, solicited exhibitors and procured silent auction items. The work with the planned giving program consisted of a feasibility study on which vehicles are best for RDI to accept donations, general marketing research, and donor related materials. The partnership between RDI and AFP-UO was very beneficial for both parties involved. AFP-UO gained valuable experience with special events and planned giving while RDI received vital assistance.
