University of Oregon has a rich legacy of entrepreneurship and innovation, stretching from the founding of Nike in the 1960s, to the establishment of one of the first university entrepreneurship centers in the 1980s, to launch of the $1B Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact in 2020. I serve as the university's Associate Vice President for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and as Academic Director of the Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship. In these roles, I guide UO's overall entrepreneurship programming, curriculum, and strategy, including innovation resources attached to the Knight Campus.

Provost's Innovation Initiative

In 2019, University of Oregon launched a new Provost's Innovation Initiative. This initiative amplifies, coordinates and integrates entrepreneurial activity across the university. I authored the University of Oregon's innovation strategic plan, which guides this initiative, and I remain actively involved in the execution, working with colleagues from every corner of campus.

Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship

In 1973, the National Science Foundation awarded $3 million to UO, MIT and Carnegie Mellon to develop experimental innovation centers, "where technological innovation could be stimulated and entrepreneurial instincts and skills nurtured." Building on this experience, UO established the Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship in 1989. The Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship serves as a hub for student-oriented entrepreneurship courses, activities, and resources.
