UO’s Archaeology Field School Certified by the Register of Professional Archaeologists

As reported in the Oregon Quarterly (Summer 2013; http://www.oregonquarterly.com/summer2013/upfront.php), the Register of Professional Archaeologists (RPA) has named the UO’s summer field school (the Northern Great Basin Prehistory Project) one of nine RPA-certified programs in the United States, and the only one in the Pacific Northwest. Program students study archaeology, geoarchaeology, and paleoethnobotany and practice survey, excavation, mapping, and record-keeping skills as they work at an active research site.
