About Us

Leadership

Alpha Phi Omega is a great way to build your leadership skills. In addition to having officer positions within our local chapter, we have opportunities available in event planning, campus outreach, being a conference delegate, working with community groups and much more! APO also encourages leadership through other student groups as well as in large campus activities. If interested, members can help put on events across campus, and be in charge of service or fellowship projects.

Fellowship

Fellowship is one of the 3 main tenets of Alpha Phi Omega. Not only do we focus on our community service, but we also recognize the importance of friendship and making everyone feel welcome.

We regularly have fun activities, including game nights, potlucks, skating, bowling, visits to the Buddhist Temple, Pumpkin Carving, retreats, and just hanging out with our brothers. Our chapter strives to create an atmosphere of kindness towards everyone. Anyone is welcome to join us in any service project, fellowship project, or meeting.

In a nutshell, APO is a group of people who get together, have fun, and help the community

Service

The primary purpose of Alpha Phi Omega is service. We are committed to serving in four ways: service to the University of Oregon campus community, to our Community, to our nation as participating citizens, and to the members of APO themselves.

Our chapter service programs provide many opportunities for the development of social awareness, friendships and leadership skills. Participation in our Service program helps make Alpha Phi Omega the unique fraternal organization that it is. Over the 2002-2003 school year, APO members gave over 800 hours of service to our community.

The Zeta Psi Chapter works with many community and campus organizations to give service to those who need it. In the past year, we have worked with Food for Lane County, Grassroots Gardens, St. Vincent De Paul, Habitat for Humanity, Alton Baker Park cleanups, the Veterans Association, Children’s Miracle Network, Alder Street Halfway House, Retirement homes, and many others.
