Subject: statutory faculty assembly motion
Dear Gwen,
On April 13, Frank Stahl (Biology Emeritus) and I (Biology) submitted a Motion (with an attached document) for inclusion in the Agenda of the 6 May 2009 meeting of the Faculty Assembly. There seems to be no final Agenda as yet, and time is running short. Therefore, in the interest of a successful meeting, which will require an informed Faculty, I hereby request that you now send our Motion and its attachment to all members of the Statutory Faculty. It may be that the President will fail to include the Motion in the Agenda. In that event, we will make the Motion from the floor. (If Professor Stahl is not allowed to do so, I will do it.) Thus, the need for the Faculty to be pre-informed ASAP remains, whether or not the Motion is included in the President's Agenda. I assume that the Motion will be forwarded to the Faculty by E-mail as soon as you are able, preferably not later than 5 PM, Thursday, 30 April 2009. In the event that you have misplaced the Motion and the attachment, I have attached both to this letter, each as a WORD doc. and a pdf for your convenience. If Frank's name on the Motion is an unbreachable obstacle to its consideration, he has agreed to have his name removed and I ask you to do so before forwarding the documents.
Cheers,
Nathan
