Professor Hansen is excellent at what he does. It's clear that he knows a huge amount about economics, but he never lets that affect his ability to teach the more basic concepts. It's so clear through everything he does that he hasn't forgotten what it's like to be a student. If everyone instructor was like this I would be a lot happier about giving this institution ten's of thousands of dollars a year. This is how college should be and how every professor should be.
I'm not sure what could be done to improve the course, maybe a disclaimer at the beginning of the course not for the faint of heart, or for those kids who want to party their weekends away.
Professor Hansen is a great all around teacher. He did an exceptional job teaching the class in an active way that was very easy to follow. This class was very well organized and was very interesting. Professor Hansen ran the class at a manageable speed and would always slow down if relevant questions arose.
Dr. Hansen is a great, well-spoken professor who can really connect with the students. Even though the class was very large, the way he taught made the class feel very small and personal.
Ben is extremely nerdy and that's an amazing attribute to him as a professor. I think that the way that he is able to make students understand what he is teaching is pretty exceptional. I never leave a class not understanding material.
I've now taken two classes with Hansen and they both rocked. He makes his lectures very fun and the personal stories he throws in as examples are always pretty great. I have recommended this class to other econ majors, but only if Hansen is teaching it.
Professor Hansen is a very charismatic lecturer, his sense of humor kept the class engaged, and his knowledge within the field of health economics is exceptional.
