The UO Chemistry Department is now accepting applications for Fall 2013. Our priority application deadline is December 15, 2012. Completed late applications will be accepted through January 5, 2013. Instructions and our application can be accessed on our Apply Page

Faith Van Nice Scholarship
The Faith Van Nice Scholarship recognizes exceptional University of Oregon undergraduate students majoring in Chemistry
or Biochemistry. Applications are solicited each spring term and an award is made when an exceptional student is identified.
Kuntz-Swinehart Memorial Scholarship
The Kuntz-Swinehart Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually in recognition of academic excellence to one or more undergraduate chemistry
majors.
Beckman Scholars Program
The UO Chemistry Department will award prestigious Beckman Research Scholarships to undergraduate research students for the 2012,
2013 and 2014 academic years.
Rosaria Haugland Graduate Research Fellowship
The Rosaria Haugland Graduate Research Fellowship is a a three-year, full graduate fellowship and tuition award presented every three years
to an outstanding graduate student in the Department of Chemistry.
Scholarships for Oregon Scientists (SOS)
The University of Oregon SOS program provides scholarships of up to $10,000 to incoming freshmen and transfer students majoring in chemistry, biochemistry,
or physics at the U of O. Twelve to fifteen scholarships are awarded to incoming students each year. Scholarships are based on both merit
and financial need, as determined by the student's FAFSA.
The
McNair Scholars Program
The McNair Scholars Program (TRiO) prepares qualified juniors and seniors
for graduate study leading to PhD degrees. UO McNair Scholars receive
comprehensive support to earn undergraduate degrees, complete research projects
in their fields of study, and apply to graduate schools. The program's limited size
provides a close-knit community while helping students gain a broad understanding
of research and university culture.
Iota
Sigma Pi NHS for Women in Chemistry Awards and Scholarships
The nomination for the Undergraduate Award for Excellence in Chemistry
shall be a senior woman chemistry student in an accredited college or university
(that grants a four-year degree). The nominee may be, but need not be, a
member of Iota Sigma Pi. Each department shall be entitled to make one nomination.
The honorarium will be $500.
The nomination for the Gladys Anderson Emerson Scholarship shall have attained
junior standing in her curriculum at an accredited college or university
and must have at least one semester of work to complete as of August 1 following
the announcement. The nominee MUST be a member of Iota Sigma Pi at the time
of her nomination. Individuals who are not members, but who wish to be nominated
for the scholarship, must be made by a member of Iota Sigma Pi and supported
by members of the faculty of the nominee's institution. Only one nomination
may be submitted from any one department within a college or university.
A $2,000 stipend and certificate will be awarded annually.
Distinguished Scholarships
The UO Distinguished Scholarships website has information and application instructions for numerous distinguished scholarships, including the Barry M.
Goldwater, Rhodes, Fulbright, and many other scholarship programs.
National
Merit Scholarship
"The National Merit Scholarship Corporation, in conjunction with
the UO, awards merit scholarships to selected academically talented high
school seniors for undergraduate studies at the University of Oregon. Prospective
UO freshmen who have been awarded College-Sponsored Finalist standing, and
who have listed the University of Oregon as their "first choice"
school on the NMSC Scholarship Application, are eligible to receive a National
Merit Scholarship at the UO."

Graduate Fellowship (Organic Chem)
Funds to help students travel to national meetings.
