Applying to the Kidd Tutorial
Kidd Tutorial students are those who are motivated to develop their writing and their literary craft through serious intellectual engagement—and who, as a rule, are already experienced in university-level writing workshops.
Prerequisite: one 200-level CRWR course with a grade of mid-B or better in the genre for which they are applying prior to Fall term enrollment.
Recommended: a second 200-level course in addition to one 300-level CRWR course, both with a grade of mid-B or better, in the genre for which they are applying prior to Fall term enrollment.
Many Kidd Tutorial students also pursue a minor in creative writing.

Applications
Application materials are accepted at the beginning of Spring term in the Creative Writing Program office located in 108 Alder Building on the corner of 15th and Alder Streets. A designated submission box will be available.
Application materials include:
- Application form (open in Adobe Acrobat to fill online and print for submission)
- unofficial current transcripts (including Spring term courses) with overall GPA
- writing sample
- statement of interest (personal statement)
- completed recommendation form from an instructor
Unfolded application materials should be stapled and placed in an envelope addressed to the Kidd Tutorial Program. Recycled envelopes are acceptable and available in the CRWR office.
Applicants are notified of committee decisions by email in mid-May.
