Cingular's Coverage in Oregon

For Additonal Information See: http://www.cingular.com

Notes about the map: Kudos to Cingular for continuing to provide actual coverage maps on their website and in printed materials. Cingular has good geographic coverage in Oregon, however, quality of service in-town may be worse than the competition. EdgeWireless has digital service in most of southwestern Oregon and Cingular users can roam on them. In other rural areas Cingular roams digitially on Cellular One of Oregon (now called Unicel) who provides first rate transparent cellular service. Most Cingular users don't even know they're roaming in this state, which is just the way we like it.

Cingular has two first rate stores in Eugene Oregon.

Downsides: My personal interactions with their customer service have mostly been bad. I suspect they have some of the worst customer service in the industry or say maybe a tie with Sprint for that title. They appear to be over sold in many markets, leading to the need to redial frequently to place a call, and problems with dropped calls. They do (currently) have more customers than any other carrier so they must be doing some things right. My guess is that they are a good choice in some areas (and probably just not mine).
