Leavenworth

True, the town of Leavenworth is a fake Bavarian village (as if the real thing was not bad enough!), but dont' let that deter you. The cragging is very nice, with lots of routes, mostly trad, on granite. The ranger station carries the guide book by Victor Kramar, which is hard to find elsewhere.

X-Y Crack (5.7, gear to #3 Camalot or TR)
ascents: 06/19/2005 lead
comments: On Chromosome Crag. The left arm of the Y is 5.7 (marginal pro near the top), the right arm is 5.5.
Mickey Mantle (5.7, TR)
ascents: 06/19/2005 TR
comments: Amazing friction problem on Eight-Mile Rock. MB could not do it (!)
Twin Cracks (5.8, gear or TR)
ascents: 06/19/2005 TR (PB led)
comments: Surprisingly physical 5.8 just to the left of Classic Crack on Eight-Mile Rock.
Classic Crack (5.8+, gear)
ascents: 06/19/2005 TR (set up by traversing from Twin Cracks anchor)
comments: Classic Beckey route on Eight-Mile Rock. The rating is mostly of historical significance (make that a capital Plus).
Deception Crack (5.9, gear or TR)
ascents: 06/19/2005 TR
comments: Aptly named ascending hand traverse on Eight-Mile Rock

Eight-Mile Rock, with Classic Crack at the center, is a good example of Leavenworth granite
