Oregon

Eugene

Sundays
Veselo Community Folk Dancers, In-Shape (Southside) Athletic Center, 27th and Willamette, Eugene. Beginning/intermediate folk dance instruction from 7:15 to 8 pm; request dancing 8 to 9:45 pm. Tuesdays
Eugene Folk Dancers, Willamalane Adult Activity Center, 215 West "C" St, Springfield. A new dance taught the first Tuesday of each month at 8:00 pm; a beginners' dance class taught each Tuesday from 6:45pm to 7:45pm (Sign up with center, drop-ins $3 and dance until 10 pm for no extra charge). Thursdays
Eugene Country Dancers (Heather and Rose), English and Scottish Country Dancing, Veteran's Memorial Ballroom, Second Floor, 1626 Willamette, Eugene. 6:30 - 9:30 pm. (Offered in conjunction with the Emerald Valley Regency Society). All dances taught. No partner necessary. Beginning dances from 6:30, becoming more intermediate as the evening goes on. Eugene Folklore Society
Regular 2nd and 4th Sat contra dances, an April dance camp (contras, swing, and other dances alternating) and a monthly song circle.

2nd and 4th Sat contras are usually Sept-June. 7:30 lesson, 8-11pm dance at the Dunn School, 3411 Willamette St, Eugene.

Salem

Tuesdays
Scandinavian Dance Classes (beginning September 17) at Micah Hall, State and Cottage, next to First United Methodist Church, Salem, OR. 7:00-9:00pm. Portland

The Chalet at 7045 SW Taylors Ferry Road in Portland, OR is a popular place for dance groups to meet. Parking is limited, car pool if possible, park tightly, and respect the neighboring driveways. Safest on-street parking is around the corner on SW 72nd.
Directions: From the north, take Interstate 5 to Exit 295, Capitol Hwy. Turn left onto Taylors Ferry Road at the stop sign. Continue about 30 blocks. 7045 will be on the right just before the road curves left.
From the south, take Interstate 5 to Exit 294, Barbur Blvd. Continue on Barbur one mile and turn right to intersect Capitol Hwy. Turn left on Capitol Hwy., cross Barbur and turn left again onto Taylors Ferry Road. Continue about 30 blocks. 7045 will be on the right just before the road curves left.

Fridays
PCDC First Friday Dance at St. Andrews Church, SW Dosch Road at Sunset Blvd, Portland, Oregon. Beginners' workshop 7:30pm, dancing begins at 8pm. $6/$5 for seniors & PCDC members.

Saturdays
PCDC First Saturday English Country Dance at St. Barnabus Episcopal Church, 2201 SW Vermont, Portland, Oregon. Beginners' workshop 7:30pm, dancing begins at 8pm. $6/$5 for seniors & PCDC members.

Hungarian Táncház (or Dance House) at The Chalet, 7045 SW Taylors Ferry Road, in Portland, Oregon. First and Third Saturdays of each month, 8:00- 11:00pm. $2. Sponsored by the Aratás Hungarian Folk Ensemble. An hour of teaching, from 8-9 p.m., by guest teachers or members of the ensemble is followed by recreational dancing. Hungarian and Transylvanian dances are mainly couple dancing; singles and couples at all skill levels are welcome. Saturdays
Balkan dancing in Seattle every Friday night at University Folk Dancers. They usually draw a crowd of 30-40 people, sometimes more, and feature live music about once a month. It's in the 2nd-floor ballroom at the Greenlake VFW, 7220 Woodlawn Ave. N.E., Seattle. $3 donation requested to pay the rent. Alberta, Canada

Sundays
