Frequently Asked Questions
- When is the season?
- Preseason begins in the Fall with 2 practices a week. Preseason practices are held at Leighton Pool (in the Rec Center) on Monday night from 8-9 and on Wednesday night from 9:30-10:30.
- The season runs from January through early May. Practices are 4 nights a week during the season. First practice is on January 9th.
Is there a fee to play?
Yes, since we are a club team, there is a fee. Dues are usually $350, but this price is subject to change.
Does the team cut inexperienced players?
- No! As a club team, U of O Water Polo welcomes anyone and everyone to the team. There are generally 2 teams, an A and a B team. Both teams participate in league play and selected tournaments. The A team has gone to the National tournament for the last 6 years, taking 2nd and 3rd in 2008 and 2009! We pride ourselves on working hard, playing as a cohesive unit, and having fun.
What time are practices?
- During the season, practices traditionally run from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday at Willamalane Park Swim Center. Practices are mandatory for all players!
