Maxwell Moriyama,
Research Assistant

B. A. Biology, University of California, Berkeley, 2009
Candidate for M. ARCH, University of Oregon, 2013

As a pre-med student at UC Berkeley, Maxwell became increasingly interested in the creative applications of what he was learning in the living sciences. He hopes to explore the potential for building design as informed by the metaphoric correlation between the systems of architecture and those of the natural world. His background in biology and current architectural focus allow for a unique perspective within the collaboration between ESBL and the BioBE center.
He is a member of the Eugene Parametric Society and is currently working on a parametrically designed installation to be funded and utilized by the Architecture Department.
