WARMUP 1B: R-VALUE

Open the Warmup1 file that you have been working with by dragging it over the Energy
Scheming application icon to open it.

The Energy Scheming window should appear on the left and the
internet browser window on the right.

1) The elements of the wall may be easily changed. Click on the draw
layer icon to change to the takeoff layer (Intro to Warmup step#10). Select
Elevations from
the drawing file icon. Double click on the south elevation icon. Open the
wall specification Wood 1. You can change any of the images or
numbers in the boxes by clicking on them. For example, in the box
which shows 3" batt insulation, click on the number 3" to change to
4" batt insulation. To change Batt to Rigid insulation, click on the
image in the box.
When you are finished with your changes, remember to close the specification window and run calculations by clicking on the icon to the left of the drawing screen.

these questions. If you want to compare graphic reports, print them
out by selecting Print Energy Performance Report from the File menu

Wood Stud structure, Batt 3" cavity, and Gyp. Board 1/2" interior), please
answer the following questions.
4) Which of the following would increase the heat gain through the
wall the most: (There can be more than one correct answer. If an
incorrect answer is also selected the entire question will be marked
as incorrect)
Print the basecase and then each situation in the
questions individually to assess this problem. (remember to always close the spec and calculate so graphic report will update correctly. Also, revert to basecase before applying each change.)
