Referred Pain to the Shoulder source 

Pain in the shoulder that is inexplicable and does not change when you move your neck, shoulders, or arms, or pain that occurs in conjunction with discomfort in other areas of the body is known as referred shoulder pain.  The referred pain is indicative of a problem elsewhere in the body.  Reffered shoudler pain can occur with, but is not limited to the following:

• Heart attack
• Pericarditis
• Shingles
• Paget's disease
• Pancreatitis
• Pneumonia
• Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
• Some gynecological procedures can produce referred pain via air entering the vagina under pressurized conditions.
