It has been a very busy year (198) for the whole family (Peter,
Carolyn, George, and Emily). Peter was dashing all over the globe accepting
honorary degrees; fortunately the prize money from his Nobel Prize covered
the airfare. Carolyn has been positively swamped; she was the head designer
for the Pendelton Woolen Mills and received constant calls from Martha
Stewart when the house was selected by HOUSE BEAUTIFUL as the home of the
year. George and I (ages 17 and 14) are maintaining our 4.0 grade point
averages. By attending night classes at Lane Community College, George
finished his Master's Degree to be free to go on his mission. I continued
to juggle being concert master in youth symphony and captaining the ski
and crew teams. Our vacations have been superb as usual. On spring break,
we enjoyed an invigorating transpacific swim from Oregon to Japan. Unfortunately
I couldn't join the rest of the family in our ecology project as I was
tending the sick in the slums of Islamabad; the family chained themselves
to beached whales. So as you can see, by day we are a very normal family
and we lead an ordinary life. By night, however, we put on our SPANDEX
suits and under the alias of ``Wunder Family'' fight crime as masked (wo)men
of might. I hope your year will be as successful as our year has been.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Kwanzaa. Love Emily
