- Explore and develop creative responses to challenges from the perspectives of those working in the design arts: fine arts, architecture, landscape architecture and planning.
The 1995 ECO- Design Art Conference will be a forum for the exchange of ideas and examples of sustainable design and art practices. Through keynote speakers, lectures, discussion panels and workshops, conference participants will be exposed to emerging methods and means for sustainable living, planning and design. The conference will also address issues of policy and politics, as well as theoretical aspects of sustainability. An atmosphere of empowerment and the hope for positive change will be supplemented by people who have both innovative ideas and successful projects. participants can then take visions and ideas back to the classroom, office, studio or job site, as well as make valuable contact with persons pursuing similar goals.
The conference is the first step in a long range plan which includes hosting an annual conference that will continue to explore the role o the design arts in promoting sustainable practices and environmental health.
