Jon Elliott was born in Montana but raised here in Eugene, Oregon. He will graduate from the University of Oregon in the spring of 2008 with a BS in Human Physiology and plans to pursue his MS the following fall. Although he is currently volunteering his time within Dr. Lovering's lab, he is very excited to be involved and help contribute toward the research goals. His personal interests include better understanding pulmonary gas exchange during exercise in healthy human subjects, specifically why it worsens and the rational behind intrapulmonary arteriovenous shunting. In the long run, Jon hopes to one day earn his Ph.D. and teach. An avid weightlifter, Jon spends most of his spare time training the Olympic lifts at IronWorks gym in Creswell, with aspirations to soon compete at the national level.
