Research Interests: I am interested in larval ecology and reproductive behavior of marine invertebrates, parasite/host interactions and the influence of parasitic castrators on host populations. I am examining the reproductive ecology of a local nudibranch, Janolus fuscus and the impact of a copepod endoparasite, Ismaila belciki on the fecundity of this sea slug.

Advisor: Dr. Craig Young

About GK-12: The GK-12 program provides a great opportunity for graduate students to transfer their enthusiasm for and knowledge of marine science over to kids. Children are naturally curious and it’s incredibly rewarding to be able to direct some of this curiosity toward scientific exploration of marine habitats. Highlights so far include teaching students how to use real microscopes and make their own observations, as well as seeing their excitement in learning about marine animals.
