STAFF BIOS

Carla McNelly Administrative Coordinator mcnelly@uoregon.edu Carla McNelly, provides administrative support for the Director, Associate Director, and professional staff. In addition, she supervises our front office student workers. A native Hooiser, Carla received her BA in Computer Science in 1985 from Indiana State University. Her first job after moving to Oregon in 1996 was in the Department of Romance Languages, where she earned a BA in Romance Languages (Spanish and Italian). Carla completed her MA in International Studies in 2001, concentrating specifically on human rights issues and the peoples of Honduras. Her final project is a fourteen year oral history titled: The Health Care System of Honduras: A Personal Look. She is currently a full time graduate student in the CSSE (Critical and Socio-Cultural Studies in Education) PhD program. Her academic interests include multiple languages in the classroom, preparing teachers to teach, and teacher professional development. Her other interests include singing gospel music, learning from others, and supporting local and global social justice issues.
