| Reagan Le Academic Advisor reaganl@uoregon.edu Reagan Le is a second generation Vietnamese American born and raised in the Portland Metropolitan area. He graduated from Westview High School and went to Oregon State University for both his undergraduate and graduate degrees. His Bachelor of Science degree is in Business Administration with a double option in Marketing Management and International Business. He also earned a minor in Ethnic Studies with an emphasis in Asian American Studies. For his graduate degree, he earned a Masters of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with his areas of study being Ethnic Studies, College Student Services Administration and Business Management. The title of his graduate research video project was “Breaking down the Myth: The Experiences of Asian Pacific American Professionals in Student Affairs within Oregon” In the fall of 2004, he studied abroad in Hong Kong at City University of Hong Kong for four months. Traveling is one of his passions, so living in Hong Kong and traveling around China was an incredible experience for him. He has traveled to Thailand, China, Australia, Canada, Mexico, and about a dozen different states in the United States. While going to graduate school at Oregon State University, his graduate assistantship was with the Educational Opportunities Program serving as one of the academic advisors and tutoring coordinators. In 2006, he moved to Fort Collins, Colorado to serve as the Assistant Director for the Asian Pacific American Cultural Center (formerly Asian Pacific American Student Services) at Colorado State University. He loved the Rocky Mountains, the continuous sun, below zero temperatures, blizzards, and the people there, but his family brought him back to Oregon in 2008. He has been serving as an academic advisor and coordinator for the Student Leadership Team for the Office of Multicultural Academic Success since July of 2008. Some of his major responsibilities include advising freshman recipients of the Diversity Excellence Scholarship, coordinating the annual New Student Fall Retreat, training the Student Leadership Team, and serving on multiple committees/boards such as the Multicultural Career Alliance committee, Weavings New Beginnings planning committee, University Counseling and Testing Center Advisory Board, Admissions Appeals Committee, and various search committees. Reagan is actively involved in the community and enjoys being so. He serves as a faculty advisor for the Asian Pacific American Student Union (APASU), is a member of the Asian Pacific American Network of Oregon (APANO), is the volunteer coordinator for the DisOrient Asian American Film Festival of Oregon, is on the planning committee for the Pan Asian Rites of Passage (PA-ROP), is a member of the Pan-Asian Community Alliance (PACAlliance), is an alumni member of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity, and is a proud member of the Oregon State University Alumni Association. Personally, he enjoys traveling, road trips, biking, sightseeing, listening to music, watching movies, photography, art, and college football. Besides his hobbies, his other passion is interacting with and developing students. He enjoys attending and coordinating programs/events around social justice, cultural awareness and leadership development. |
