payroll: Spring Cleaning Reminder from the Career Center
Now is the time to update your student job postings in SJS. We really
need your help in doing the following types of " spring cleaning" as
summer term approaches:
- Correct/update "posting dates"
- Correct/update "taking or not taking" information
It is very important to keep this information accurate. Students
frequently point out many jobs that say "taking applications", but the
number of open positions is 0. We still have some active job postings in
SJS that date from 2006.
So, please check your postings to make sure they reflect the current
status of your jobs. It is preferable to close your jobs when you don't
actually have openings - even though you may have quite a bit of
turnover. If you do want to keep them posted for that reason, please don't
leave them open continuously. The dates become very confusing and you'll
probably lose the attention of job seekers. Enter a closing date and
repost the job once or twice a year. Also mention within your job
description that you accept applications year round.
Thanks so much for adopting this system. I receive lots of positive
remarks from students that they really appreciate finding all student jobs
in one place.
