SUBJECT:   STATEWIDE HIRING FREEZE

Earlier this week you received a memorandum from President Lariviere, 
incoming Interim President Robert Berdahl, and Acting Senior Vice 
President and Provost Lorraine Davis regarding the statewide hiring freeze 
and implications for the University of Oregon.  We have prepared 
guidelines and a form to document position exemptions and request 
exceptions to the freeze.  They are available on Human Resources website 
at:

As explained in the guidelines, the "Position Exemption/Exception" form 
must be completed for searches currently underway and future searches.
