Office Cleanouts
If you are planning on cleaning out your office, moving or cleaning out your files, please contact the Paper Recycling Coordinator at 541-346-5275. We will give you extra barrels to assist you in this process and when you've filled these, call for us to trade them out with more empty barrels, or call for us to pick them up when you are finished! The Paper Recycling Coordinator can assist you in recycling other non-paper items. Remember to bring extra office supplies to ROSE and furniture you don't need anymore to Surplus Furniture .

For Campus Recycling office clean outs, we ask people to plan ahead.  When they call us, we try to assess the sorting possibilities and setup a time for barrels to be delivered. An office clean-out kit is given to each office doing a clean out.  This kit contains signs for each grade of office paper to clip onto the barrels.  Pick-up of the barrels is done on an on-call basis, and we ask that you give our crews 48 hours to service your clean-out barrels. .

Office Clean-
Out Guidelines

Sorting paper properly and pulling out contaminants from office clean-outs is time intensive and strains our labor resources at Campus Recycling.  Please help us out and sort your materials appropriately.

Signs
Attached, you will find signs for each grade of office paper.  To make sorting easier, please clip the signs to the clean-out barrels.  Each sign lists the most common types of materials found within each paper category.

Other Recyclables

We can also provide separate clean-out barrels for other recyclable items found in offices/labs at the time of clean-outs. If you have large quantities of transparencies, toner cartridges, clean white block Styrofoam, DVDs/CDs, audio/video cassettes, clean petri dishes, hard plastic, sheet plastic, Styrofoam packing peanuts (bag separately in plastic bags), or even bottles & cans, please let us know when you call for your clean-out barrels so that we can make sure you get a separate barrel for each category.

Contaminants
Transparencies are one of the most troublesome - and costly - contaminants found in office clean-out barrels intended for paper categories.  (We can recycle transparencies but we ask that you sort them into a separate receptacle – see above.)  Please remember that carbon paper, paper food containers, foam-board, foam rubber, tissue and food wrappers are all garbage and should not be included in the clean-out barrels or the hallway paper recycling sites.

R.O.S.E.
If you have surplus office supplies in good shape that may be reused, please bring them to the
R
eusable Office Supply Exchange
in room 182 PLC. The key is available from the English Department office in 118 PLC.

Finished?
When the barrels are nearly full and you need them traded out for empties, or they are full and your clean-out is complete, simply call for a trade out or a pick-up. Please allow our crew 48 hours to respond to your call.

Thanks for recycling!

Office clean-outs and large moves are generally dealt with at no charge to the customer. And while we are occasionally able to get funding from the construction and moving budgets for the largest projects, these funds are neither guaranteed nor sufficient to overcome short-term staffing, equipment and other resource needs.  We ask you, therefore, to help us to keep this service viable by following a few simple guidelines
