The Data

The original data was collected by teams of students and neighborhood residents, walking through the neighborhood, and entering data directly into GIS format on a PDA. The benefit of this approach was that data was entered directly into an electronic and GIS format, thereby making it easier to produce maps based on the data collected. Also, the data entry forms utilized closed ended questions, thereby minimizing data entry error. The basic data collected is below. For the point data, some of the categories had additional attributes collected (i.e. tree width if the point represented a tree).
The easiest way of accessing the data is by viewing or printing the maps. If you would like the raw data, here you go. The GIS data is projected in NAD 1983 HARN Oregon South.

This project was based on a collaborative effort between the citizens of the Crest Drive Neighborhood in Eugene, OR and students at the University of Oregon under the direction of Professor Marc Schlossberg.
