The wikipedia article on veganism is pretty cool and full of a bunch of info. I hadn't previously known the origins of the word vegan til i read it.

Shelter Animal Resource Alliance (S.A.R.A.) is a non-profit organization that rescues, assists and advocates for shelter animals, particularly animals at animal control shelters who would otherwise be euthanized.
