WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION LIFTS SARS ADVISORY AGAINST
TRAVEL TO TORONTO

The World Health Organization today lifted its travel advisory for
Toronto, saying the magnitude of probable SARS cases declined; 20 days
elapsed since the last cases of "community transmission occurred;" and
there have been no new confirmation of exported SARS cases there.
According to WHO, Canadian authorities provided assurances that
"pro-active screening measures" will be taken at airports.
Toronto, meanwhile, is still classified by WHO as an "affected area," a
status that Vietnam shed April 28.
WHO travel advisories remain in place for parts of China, including
Beijing, Hong Kong, and Guandong and Shanxi provinces.
