Some
of you have been concerned about the personal questions being asked by the
travel agents. Please note that these are not travel agency rules but are
coming from The Transportation Security Administration (TSA). When making airline reservations for travelers
you will be required to provide additional personal information as part of
aviation security enhancements recommended by the 9/11 Commission. Secure
Flight shifts responsibility from the airlines to the Transportation Security
Administration (TSA) for checking passenger names against “watch
lists.” Only
passengers who are cleared to fly by the TSA will be given boarding passes.
Passengers who decline to provide the required Secure Flight information in
advance of their travel plans will face, at a minimum, secondary screening and
delays at the airport, and could very likely be denied boarding. Following are the personal items that are required for
things to flow smoothly. For our employees, this information can be
stored in their profile at the travel agency and you will only have to give
them the information once. 1.Full Name exactly as it
appears on the unexpired government-issued ID the passenger intends to present
at the airport prior to boarding. A middle name is mandatory if the
government-issued ID includes a middle name. If the passenger does not have a
middle name, or if the passenger’s government-issued ID does not include
a middle name, then it does not need to be collected. 2. Date
of Birth as it appears on the document the traveler plans to present at the
airport. 3. Gender
as it appears on the document the traveler plans to present at the
airport. Carolyn
