Run Lola Run was specifically chosen for this exhibition for which I was asked to create a video interpretation of the Lomo SuperSampler Camera which captures four sequential shots in a single photo at half second intervals. One image was exported from the original film at every half second interval, totaling 9600 still images. The images were reformatted in the style of the lomo camera. An extremely laborious process, because In order for each image to play in the proper order at half second intervals - each of the 9600 images had to be individually cropped and positioned on the timeline. What became clear in this process was the director, Tom Tykwer and his editors's cuts and framing of each sequence. Since in the film, Lola is continuously running, whereas here each still remains on the screen for a half second thereby revealing information that is only fleeting in the film.

note: since this online version is at 12 fps instead of the standard 29.97 - its motion is slightly slower (0.4 seconds slower per 4 frames)
