Welcome to the U of O Aikido Club Gassuku! This semiar is being co-hosted with Aikido of Eugene. Our guest instructor will be Frank Doran Shihan of the California Aikido Association. Doran Sensei is ranked Shichidan (7th degree black belt). We invite people of all styles, schools and skill levels to come train with us.
This year the gassuku will be held on the University of Oregon campus, in Eugene, Oregon, in the Student REC Center at the corner of University St. and 15th Ave. Parking is limited and mostly metered. A pass may be purchased to park on campus on Friday at the Kiosk on 13th St. (only needed until 6pm), accessible only from Agate St. Free off-campus parking is available in the residential area on the south side of 18th Ave. Most is for two hours; starting at about 21st Ave there is time-unlimited parking available.
Inside the REC Center, tell the front desk staffers that you are here for the Aikido seminar and they will let you in for free. Turn right and then left; the locker rooms will be on your left. Exiting the locker rooms, continue up the same hallway (up the ramp with the double doors at the top). Turn left and continue until the hall makes a sharp right. On your left is Mat Room 2, which we will be using for the seminar. Please remove your shoes before you step inside.

The gassuku is tenatively scheduled for Friday Jan. 5, Saturday Jan. 6 and Sunday Jan. 7, and tenatively will have a schedule like this:

There are many affordable motels in the University area. Also, club members who live off campus will have some space available in their homes. Make sure you bring a sleeping bag.
