The Association for Women in Mathematics at the University of Oregon was founded in the spring of 2013. Our mission includes increasing the visibility of women in mathematics and encouraging young women to pursue careers in the mathematical sciences.

The Association for Women in Mathematics, as a national organization, was founded in 1971. There are currently more than 3000 members of AWM, including both men and women. The association has a rich history, which can be found here.
