From: "Peter B Gilkey" To: "John E Bonine (UO)" , paulvd@uoregon.edu, gwens@uoregon.edu Dear Paul and Gwen. Pursuant to the email cited below, I hereby request to be placed on the Agenda for the February meeting of the UO Senate so that I can give notice of motion for the March meeting of the UO Senate. The motion in question will deal with the Conflict of Interest policy statement/associated disclosure form(s)/and related matters. I will submit the motion in question to the Senate Rules Committee and to the President of the Senate no later than Sunday 1 March 2009 which is the requisite 10 days before the March meeting. (Assuming I have the dates right). Given the nature of the matter in question, there may be more than one motion - but all deal with COI. And, one supposes possibly, COC. I wish to cast the net widely. Respectfully submitted Peter B Gilkey Vice President of the UO Senate Dear John. Will do. From: "John E Bonine (UO)" To: "'Peter B Gilkey'" Cc: paulvd@uoregon.edu Dear Peter, I will be pleased if you do the honors. John. I have looked at the schedule. As I said at one of our meetings, it would be best to have notice of motion given at the February Senate Meeting as a "placeholder". It does not commit to having a motion on COI to present. But it makes it possible. I would be charmed to give such notice of motion in my capacity as Vice President of the UO Senate. I would be equally charmed to have you do it in your capacity as chair of the COIC committee. Its your call. Let me know your wishes. PBG
