The following email was received by Senate President Gilkey on 10 April 2000 from the Chair of the FAC David Frank

Dear President Gilkey:

The Faculty Advisory Council has reviewed the report of the Ad Hoc Committee on Licensing. In reviewing the report, the Council voted unanimously1 to endorse the conclusions reached by the Committee. Consistent with these conclusions, we believe:

  1. The University should join the WRC.
  2. That the Ad Hoc Committee on Licensing has studied the issue with great care. We have great professional respect for their dedication and hard work, and believe endorsements of their conclusions reflect a faith in their judgment and those who serve on committees.
  3. The interests of the University will be best served if the Senate endorses the Committeesí recommendation to join the WRC at its Wednesday April 10 meeting.

On behalf of the Faculty Advisory Committee.

David Frank
Chair
