Competition
This year is the second year that the club sport competition team is a dedicated 14 member team. As a member of the team, I strongly encourage you all to join. You will meet some awesome people, competitions are incredibly fun (even if you are not a strong skier or snowboarder), and you’ll have the opportunity to improve incredibly quickly. The experience of the team and trips is priceless.
The league we compete in is USASA which is the nation’s largest league for amateur snowboarding competition. The league due is $65 for the year. This membership is only needed to participate one of the two competition series at Mt. Bachelor; the "Enter The Dragon" series. To participate in these you need to register at www.usasa.org and you’ll have to pay for that yourself via credit card online. After you are registered, they will email you the necessary member certification within 24 hours.
For the 09/10 season, we will be competing at Mt. Bachelor in at least 4 competitions between the two series at Mt. Bachelor; Enter the Dragon series (ETD), and the Oregon Cup (OC) series. The Oregon Cup series does not require a USASA membership and is much less expensive. Cash prizes are also available for placement at the OC competitions.
For more information on specific competition costs, schedules, and the series' break down, check out the Schedule.
Our coach this year is Justin Levin, a student and member of the team from Colorado. He will be there to help you guys out if you have any questions or particular things you want to work on.
