About the Division of Undergraduate Studies

Undergraduate Studies, as part of Academic Affairs, offers programs that enrich the academic life of undergraduate students in all majors and pre-professional programs. Under the leadership of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies, it promotes:

  • A campus culture of intellectual curiosity and engagement
  • Opportunities for students at all levels to be creative and to work in close association with outstanding faculty
  • A coherent approach to General Education

The job of Undergraduate Studies is to introduce students to the University -- that is, to the world of ideas. We strive to support students who are curious and intellectually vigorous, regardless of their cultural background or socio-economic circumstances. (See the Diversity Plan of Undergraduate Studies.)
