TITLE: Deformation Quantization

ABSTRACT: Deformation quantization is a technique that allows to pass from Classical Mechanics to (a suitable version of) Quantum Mechanics. More mathematically, the objective of Deformation quantization is to construct and to study certain structures on Poisson manifolds called "star-products". In this talk I will explain known results on quantization of symplectic manifolds. Time permitting I will also discuss the case of general Poisson manifolds.
