Heather Cameron, Michael Nilson, Kendall Lege, and Dana Macalanda represented Oregon and the Northwest Wushu Alliance this past Saturday (4/28) at the annual competition between various teams from universities around the country. All four were very proud to represent the Northwest and would like to congratulate the University of Virginia Wushu Club for putting together such an awesome tournament.

Medal Count: 2 total (2 bronze)

Michael Nilson: 3rd Intermediate Other Weapon (Fan)

Dana Macalanda: 3rd Intermediate Longfist (Chang quan)

The club’s founder Daniel Wu will sit in on an hour of today’s practice before heading to the screening of his new film “Overheard 2″ at the Regal Valley River Center Stadium. Wu is visiting as a special guest of the annual Cinema Pacific Film Festival. Pictures and video will definitely follow the event, but for now here’s an article highlighting Wu’s visit in The Register-Guard and a 2007interview conducted by Brandon Sugiyama, another former member and coach who Wu trained.
