Research Interests

My research interests focus on applications of educational methods and statistical models to issues in education, policy, and the community. I am interested and involved in research on many aspects of educational measurement and assessment from classroom teaching issues to large-scale national assessments as well as the use of assessment information for decision and policy making. Listed below are some areas in which I have recently been involved in research:

   o   Instructional effectiveness and evaluation

   o   Construct and measurement validity

o   Assessment methods and alternative forms of assessment

o   Teacher attitudes toward their preparation, professional development, efficacy and
        satisfaction

o   Accountability and the measurement of school effectiveness

o   Longitudinal growth modeling of student achievement

Please review my curriculum vitae for an indication of some of my other research activities. I welcome inquiries about my research and I strongly encourage and support the involvement of students in research activities. Let me know if I can answer any questions about research in education.
