Description:

The Summary Portfolio is a document that displays the work you completed this term. It should be a summation of the information you have learned and an example of your abilities with VectorWorks. It should be a document you would feel comfortable including in a personal portfolio when applying for employment.

Format:

Size:

8-1/2" x 11" recommended, no larger than 11" x 17"

Paper:

Any

Layout:
  • Try to be creative and make it compelling.
  • Use a consistent layout (basically the same for each drawing except the Title Page and Table of Contents). Each subsequent sheet in the set should have a page number and title.
  • Include a title sheet, perhaps with a view of one of your drawings from this term.  Chose an image that is both interesting in itself and also shows you have some skill manipulating this software. Include your name, date, class title, and instructor name on the title page.
  • While you will need to somehow generate images from your VectorWorks files, you may use any technique you like for the final product. In other words, you are not limited to VectorWorks and its printing abilities.
  • For each drawing listed under Contents below, include a title and drawing scale.  Consider combining drawings on a single page where there are logical associations. For example, you might use a key plan on section drawings. Be sure to include a north arrow for all plans.

Contents:

  • Cover/Title Page
  • Table of Contents
  • Site Plan
  • Floor Plan
  • Roof Plan
  • Section
  • Elevation
  • Detail(s)
  • Four model views.  Choose the views to best describe the object.
  • Any other drawings related to your work this quarter that you wish to include
