Chapter 3, level 7*: FW: 48-74

The Archive “Preface” suggests concerning the second set of proofs for transition 3 (level 7) that  “A duplicate set was probably prepared for the printer” (JJA 45: xiv). The very few differences between levels 7 and 8, and the plausibility of the level 8 errors in view of the appearance of level 7, suggest to us that there probably was not such a duplicate set.
