Minor: African Studies
(AFR)
The minor in African Studies enriches students’ understanding of the interactions among the social, economic, cultural, historical, historical, and geopolitical forces factors that have shaped African societies. African Studies courses are offered by a wide range of departments and programs, from journalism and biology to history and anthropology. Each year, the African Studies Lecture series brings in leading scholars to help students understand interdisciplinary topics of interest. The Acacia Seminars give undergraduates a venue to discuss their research and study abroad experiences, as well as evening social events such as musical performances and film screenings.
