Minor: Indigenous, Race, and Ethnic Studies
(IRES)
Students in Indigenous, Race, and Ethnic Studies examine the relationship of race and ethnicity to power and inequality, with special emphasis on intersections with gender, class, sexuality, migration, indigeneity, and colonialism. IRES students study historical and contemporary manifestations of white supremacy and investigate how systems of domination as well as social struggles create racial subjects. The program aims to raise student awareness of the racial, ethnic, and political dimensions of all spheres of society. As such, a minor in IRES can enrich the academic programs of students in many different fields.TOP FIVE
