External Mandates

As identified by the committee, there are several federal and state agencies that oversee certain aspects of the AEI's performance and place guidelines on the unit. These agencies include the Bureau of Labor and Industry (BOLI), the Department of State, the Commission on English Accreditation body (CEA), the Department of Educational, and the Oregon University Systems. The AEI adheres to strict federal policies with regard to student admissions and visa status and is in compliance with student privacy practices, hiring and employment policies.

Federal grants require stringent tracking, oversight and outcomes-based data collection. Requirements for international contracts and international governments related to payment and quality assurance of learning.
