D2. Generic Replacement Charge

Orbis does not pay attention to the local location code in item records, so each institution may have only one generic replacement charge. A Law Library in Institution A cannot charge a different amount from the main library at the same institution, for example.

Get feedback from your circulation folks, billing staff, and Library Administration, and then answer these questions:


1. All libraries should do the same thing or each library gets to make its own choices:

_______My institution thinks that all Orbis generic replacement costs should be the same in every Orbis library.

--or--

_______My institution thinks that each institution should be able to charge whatever it wants as a generic replacement charge.




2. My institution tentatively thinks that this would be a dandy generic replacement cost for its lost books:
