Searching for Dark Matter with BaBar: Invisible Decays of the Upsilon (1S) Meson

I will discuss the search for invisible decays of the Y(1S) meson and the potential connection to low mass (<~5GeV) dark matter candidates. I will present the details of the BaBar search for this mode using the dipion transition Y(3S) -> \pi+ \pi- Y(1S) as a tag for the presence of a Y(1S). Background suppression and prediction will be discussed, as well as systematic errors on the analysis. A new upper limit on this decay rate is measured.
