Because of the short format of the class, absenteeism will disrupt your learning schedule. For 2 credits, only 1 absence without a good excuse will be allowed, for 4 credits, 3 absences. Arrival more than 10 minutes after the beginning of the class will be counted as a zero for class participation.
To make the most of our learning community, class participation will be required. At the beginning of each class, students will be asked to report on their progress and raise points for clarification. Students will be also asked to give commentary on the readings.
See intro for breakdown of grade. Home work will be given a preliminary mark by the teaching assistants on a 0 to 10 scale. Late homework will have one point subtracted for every day late.
For 2 credits: All work will be summarized in a final portfolio for marking in the 6th week of class.
For 4 credits: Assignments need to be compiled and resubmitted for grading review at the end of the term.
