Assignment 3

2D & 3D Diagrams

Class Review hand-inTuesday Jan 27, 1998 by 9:30 a.m.

Express Essentials

Analytically dissect the organization of your site. Examine how the systems such as spatial order, structural hierarchy, vehicular traffic, pedestrian circulation, thermal dynamics, construction sequence, etc. can be simplified for clarity. Can you find the view which reveals the most? Which ideas are enhanced by the abstraction of flat 2D graphics and which are best shown with 3D forms?

Using FormZ, create a set of at least 4 two dimensional which carefully use lineweight, color, and value to emphasize the key aspects of the design.

Complement this with a set of at least 4 three-dimensional images which clearly explain an aspect of your building.

Carefully layout these images in an HTML page and link them to your site home page.

(Tech note: Images may be saved as TIFF format bitmaps directly from FormZ's File menu > Save as and then rescaled and converted to fewer colors in Graphic Converter or Photoshop)
