University of Oregon biology professor Joe Thornton is featured in the February 2009 issue of "Findings," a publication of the National Institute of General Medical Sciences, a division of the National Institutes of Health.

In the article Past to Present "Joe Thornton goes back 450 million years in time to piece together the evolution of hormones and their receptors. This archaic biology, he says, can help us better understand who we are today," notes the publication.

In addition to the article, Thornton, a recipient of a 2006 Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, is featured by way of an audio interview. (Podcast link)
